Staying Active Is the Key to Finding Mental and Physical Balance
Maintaining a balance between our mental and physical health has become increasingly challenging in today’s fast-paced world. The sedentary lifestyle that dominates much of modern society contributes to a host of physical ailments, ranging from back and neck pain to chronic conditions that affect our health and mental well-being.
The relationship between the mind and body underscores the importance of staying active as an effective strategy for finding mental and physical balance. Physical therapy, often associated solely with injury recovery, plays a crucial role in helping people get and stay active.
The Link Between Physical Activity and Mental Health
Regular physical activity can have a profound impact on mental health. Exercise releases endorphins, known as the body’s natural mood elevators, which can help symptoms of depression and anxiety. Moreover, the discipline and routine associated with regular exercise can provide a sense of purpose and achievement, further enhancing mental well-being.
However, initiating and sustaining an active lifestyle can feel overwhelming, especially for those dealing with chronic pain or mobility issues. This is where physical therapy comes into play, bridging the gap between the desire for activity and the capability to pursue it.

Our Patients Get Great Results
“All the staff are very caring and committed to their work. My PT Dr. Chris started with a thorough evaluation of my condition, and constantly re-evaluates and adjusts my treatment and exercises accordingly. I especially appreciate how hard he works to ensure that the treatment is designed to help me get back to enjoying my favorite activities. I’m really impressed by everyone’s dedication to helping me get better!” – F.G.
What Is InBody Testing?
No Estimations. Exact Results.
- Only impedance is used to determine your body composition results; no statistical data or empirical equations are used or required to predict your body composition.
- Measure your fat, muscle, and water levels in less than a minute. No dunking. No pinching. No discomfort. Simply stand on the device and hold the hand electrodes to test.
- Non-invasive and pain-free testing
Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis
Safe, low-level currents are sent through the body through the hand and foot electrodes. The impedance the currents encounter are measured, and from there, your body composition is derived. With InBody’s patented technology, BIA has never been more highly correlated with gold standard methods until now.
Each InBody Test will print out a full-page results sheet detailing the muscle, fat, and water values of the user. The InBody scan provides you with lean mass and fat values in each segment of the body to give you a proper assessment of body composition.
Segmental Fat And Lean Mass Analysis
Identify how many pounds of lean mass and fat are in each body segment. This can be utilized to determine how specific diets and exercises are affecting the body composition.
Injury Identification
You can identify and track inflammation, swelling, and even injuries with ECW/TBW Analysis while monitoring how this ratio changes over time under the Body Composition History chart. Call us today to schedule your assessment!

Physical Therapy: More Than Just Rehabilitation
While physical therapy is traditionally viewed through the lens of rehabilitation, its scope extends far beyond recovery from injury. Our physical therapists are experts in movement and will design personalized exercise programs that cater to your unique needs and limitations. Our programs not only aim to improve physical health but also serve as a boost for mental health benefits.
Personalized Exercise Programs
A key component of physical therapy is the development of personalized exercise programs. These are tailored to the individual’s specific conditions and goals, whether improving mobility, reducing pain, or enhancing overall physical function and mental well-being.
Pain Management
Chronic pain is a common issue that significantly impacts an individual’s mental health, leading to feelings of frustration, depression, and anxiety. Physical therapy offers various techniques for pain management, such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and education on body mechanics. By addressing the root cause of pain, physical therapy not only improves physical function but also contributes to mental relief and a more positive outlook on life.
Stress Relief and Relaxation
Physical therapy sessions often incorporate stress relief and relaxation elements, such as deep breathing exercises and targeted stretching. These techniques help the recovery process and have a calming effect on the mind, reducing stress and promoting mental clarity.
Boosting Self-Efficacy and Autonomy
One of the most significant mental benefits of physical therapy is the focus on teaching our patients self-care. Learning how to manage one’s health effectively can empower you and give you control over your physical and mental well-being. This approach is crucial for your mental health, as it fosters resilience, self-reliance, and a proactive approach to tackling life’s challenges.
A Holistic Approach to Well-being
Our physical therapists believe in a holistic approach to health, recognizing the intricate connection between the physical and mental aspects of well-being. By promoting physical activity and addressing individual health challenges, our approach can significantly improve mental health, contributing to a more balanced and fulfilling life.

3 Ways to Practice Gratitude
Did you know that being grateful is actually good for your health? It’s true!
We all love Thanksgiving for the excellent food, football, and time spent with family, but truthfully, this holiday means much more. Practicing gratitude can lead to greater happiness all year long. According to Harvard Health Publishing, “Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.” If you want to implement more gratitude in your own life, take a look at these 3 tips.
1. Write thank you letters
Remember writing thank you letters? How long has it been since you wrote one? You don’t need to have a wedding, graduation, or other big life event to thank the people in your life. Try writing thank you letters to your friends and family for the little things– you’ll be surprised at how good it feels!
2. Write down what you are grateful for every day
This might sound intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be! Take a few minutes each morning or evening to write down at least 3 things that you are grateful for in your life. This repeated action helps us shift into a more positive mindset and can help fight symptoms of depression and anxiety.
3. Use visual reminders
It can be hard to remember to practice gratitude. With your hectic schedule, sometimes it can feel impossible to sit down, take a moment to breathe, and reflect on your blessings. Visual cues can be a great tool for reminding us to take a beat. Something as simple as sticky notes, a poster, or even your home screen on your phone or laptop can help us remember to slow down and shift to a positive mindset.

What is the TPI Golf Assessment?
Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) has created a golf assessment to screen for physical mobility or stability deficiencies that may negatively impact your game. Identifying key areas of weakness or inflexibility “timely” enough, will give us time to provide you with a program to correct the defaults, improve your game and prevent the injuries that result from these imbalances and compensations.
What Happens During a PMX® TPI Assessment?
The Assessment will take up to an hour. Following a brief health screening, we’ll begin the physical test. Come dressed comfortably and ready to participate. You will be led through a series of fitness movements that are key components of the golf swing. We’ll go over your results with you to assure that you have an understanding of how your findings might be impacting your golf performance.
